Today’s Client Spotlight is very special to me, because it showcases a full year’s transformation that goes well beyond weight loss.
Courtney and I met a year ago this month. I still vividly remember when she walked in for Fit Camp the first time. She was super sweet and friendly, but a little shy and self-conscious. We talked, and I learned she had already lost quite a bit of weight, but was spinning her wheels a little using sort of “quick-fix” methods.
Pretty much right away Courtney became a dedicated Fit Camp participant. As we got to know each other, we talked more about ways she could develop better eating habits that would help her lose weight but also teach her about food and how to eat healthy long-term.
Courtney was ready to learn and ready to do the work. She bought right into our philosophy and never faltered. She was at every Fit Camp, putting in her best.
The results started coming. Many of you have watched as Courtney has transformed before our very eyes! She was even featured in Fit Columbus magazine as an inspiration to others who are on the same journey.
But I am not writing this today to solely point out Courtney’s incredible physical transformation. Yes, she has lost weight (more than 30 pounds since we began working together) as well as inches and now maintains a very fit and healthy body fat percentage.
No, Courtney’s transformation goes much deeper than that. I have watched this woman blossom into someone who carries herself with confidence, encourages others and motivates and inspires friends and strangers.
Oh, and by the way, this girl is strong! Since beginning Individual Training with me in November, Courtney has grown leaps and bounds in her physical strength.
That includes adding 30 pounds to her lat pulldown, 20 pounds to her bench press, learning to squat and dead lift with both kettle bells and bars, and making huge gains in both her push-ups and inverted rows.
Last week we were both so excited when she banged out three sets of ten elevated push-ups with NO problem, because we remembered not long ago when she struggled to complete the sets.
That kind of progress is just as important and special as weight loss, and Courtney knows it. The other thing I love about this girl is she wants to be strong, and she celebrates these achievements and sets goals for herself to keep working toward that have nothing to do with a scale or a dress size.
She did, however, recently purchase a bikini for an upcoming vacation, and it will be the first time she’s worn one in years. She’s going to look darn good on the beach, too!!
