Being a teacher is a tough job. Many teachers spend hours helping their students and working on their classrooms and often they struggle to leave time for taking care of themselves.
Dana is a teacher who often puts in 14 hour days and spends time on weekends grading papers and preparing for lessons in her fifth grade classroom.
While she wasn’t overweight, Dana started training because she knew her eating habits were not what they should be and she wanted to be stronger for her busy life which involves a lot of regular activity.
Dana learned all about eating a balanced diet and meal planning. She found eating better gave her more energy throughout the day.
Additionally Dana found a love for strength training. Getting stronger made it easier for her to do work around the house and feel confident lifting and moving furniture by herself.
Dana dropped ten pounds and kept if off! She’s down nearly 12 inches and lost 4% body fat. But most importantly, she gained energy, strength and confidence in her physical abilities.
Because this teacher dedicated herself to learning and challenging herself to get outside the comfort zone, she’s had incredible results and made it stick. She also learned how to take better care of herself while still being there for her students and family.
Dana could teach all of us a thing or two about dedication and consistency and how to make long-term sustainable lifestyle changes! Thanks to her and all teachers for their hard work as we go back to school this Fall.
