After completing multiple marathons and half marathons, Lynn found herself hitting a plateau. She wanted to see if strength training would not only improve her race time, but would also shape her body and produce results that running no longer did.
When I met Lynn she was already active and fit, but new to lifting weights and not really sure what she should be doing in the gym. Her goal was to learn how to lift weights so she could continue running injury free, build strength and lose body fat.
Lynn started with Personal Training and soon fell in love with strength training so much she began attending Fit Camps and then added a Small Group Training day to her routine.
She continued to run and completed a couple endurance events while training and was pleased to discover her running time got better even without running as much as she had in the past. Her legs were stronger and she had better endurance.
Through training, Lynn lost five pounds, dropped her body fat 4% and lost nearly eight inches! You can see from her photos that what might sound like a small change on the scale is a dramatic change to her body. Not only did Lynn trim down and lose body fat, she got stronger and her confidence in the gym grew.
Lynn’s goal when she started training was to learn how to create her own workouts so she could get to the gym a few days a week and make it a lifestyle. She says she’s no longer unsure about what to do when she gets to the gym and will continue lifting, running and challenging herself each day.
These types of transformations are so much bigger than pounds or inches. Lynn was unhappy with her body and wanted to change. She lost some weight but she gained knowledge that she can use to keep herself active and healthy for years to come!
