Long-term consistency beats short term extremes every time, and Tracy is proof of that.
When we started working together, Tracy knew she wasn’t going to drop a ton of weight really fast. She wanted to lose the weight and keep it off and was willing to give it time and make small progress each month.
Tracy and her husband Bo workout together, and they also started to institute small changes to their family meals and how they did things at home.
They both made an effort to be more active and eat smaller portion sizes.
Little by little they both started shrinking.
In the year since I began working with Tracy and Bo, she has lost just under 30 pounds, an impressive 31 inches, and dropped her body fat by over 4%.
Tracy knows she still wants to lose more weight, but she also recognizes that losing 20 pounds in a year and keeping it off is something to be proud of.
I hope her story inspires others to recognize that slow and steady beats fast and reckless every time. We all want to reach our goal so fast, but what does it matter if we don’t keep it?
Imagine losing 30 pounds a year for two or three years? That’s a 60-90 pounds weight loss and nothing to scoff at. Recognize the weight didn’t come on overnight, and it won’t come off that fast either. It took years to gain and will take years to lose, but if you work hard and make small steps week by week, just like Tracy you too could be looking at a much smaller and healthier version of yourself just a year from now!
